FAQ
Q: What is P.D.R. (Paintless Dent Repair)?
A: P.D.R. is the fine art of removing hail damage, door dings, small dents, and creases from vehicles by accessing the backside of dents and massaging the damaged area back to its original form.
Q: How big of dents can be taken out of my car?
A: P.D.R. is limited to removing dents the size of Coke cans and smaller. Any larger, the metal has been stretched so much that traditional body shop methods should be used to permanently remove the dent.
Q: I was in a "fender-bender", can I use P.D.R. to remove the dents?
A: Not normally. If the paint has been cracked, the vehicle needs to be taken to a body shop for repair.
Q: My car was hit by an object. Can P.D.R. fix my dent?
A: Most likely. We have removed dents caused by baseballs, golf balls, and even livestock!
Q: Will my Auto Insurance pay for P.D.R.?
A: In most cases, yes! Keep in mind that some small repairs can be done for less than your deductible. If repairs exceed your deductible, it would be in the customer's best interest if the Insurance Agent is contacted. At Hail Dents, the customer will always experience convenient, quality repairs. If your vehicle has hail damage, notify your insurance company and call Hail Dents for your FREE mobile estimate.
Q: How long does P.D.R. take?
A Door ding repairs can be done while you wait. When hail damage is involved, the repair will normally take one or two days. At Hail Dents, service is always quick and efficient, never requiring days or weeks like body shop repairs.
Q: Will P.D.R. hurt the value of my vehicle?
A: No! P.D.R. actually helps hold the resale value of your vehicle by preserving the original factory finish.
Q: How much money can I expect to save using P.D.R. versus traditional body shop methods?
A: You can expect to save 30% to 50% off the cost of body shop repairs. This means you keep more money in your pocket! Hail Dents does not have the overhead of body shops such as primer, bondo, and expensive paints, so the savings are passed on to our customers.
Myths
Many people are mistaken as to the methods P.D.R. technicians use to remove dents. P. D.R. is a specialized field that takes many years to master. Tools are specially designed based on the type of dent, sharpness of dent, and where the dent is located on the vehicle.
Some common myths are:
- Dry Ice
- Suction Cups
- Magnets
- Heat Tools
- Dents Come Back
- Paint Will Peel Off
Infomercials claim their "dent puller" is the same as those used by P.D.R. technicians.
DO NOT BE FOOLED!!! What they don't tell you is that very few dents can be pulled out using their product. Inexperienced do-it-yourselfers often find these products will literally pull the paint off of their car leaving them worse than when started. Others have found that the metal becomes "stretched" leaving high "knots" and giving the area an uneven, wavy appearance.
